After telling Yukiko of what happened, Shir insists that they take a taxi cab to the police station, despite Yukikos pleas to walk instead. While in the cab, Shir hallucinates that Tamura is driving the cab, and it crashes, killing Yukiko. After her funeral, Shir seeks solace in the arms of strip bar worker and Kyichis grieving girlfriend Yoko Akiko Ono, who discovers Shirs culpability for the hitandrun after sleeping with him and, with Kyichis mother, plots revenge. ........
